The purpose of this WEB site is to serve our clients, inform prospective clients of available services, assist communication among states, help people working in the field, and inform people from other fields about substance abuse treatment needs assessment and planning.
The National Technical Center for Substance Abuse Needs
Assessment (hereafter referred to as NTC) was established to
provide technical support to states conducting studies to meet
the requirements of the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment
(SAPT) Block Grant applications and other planning activities. We
also serve as a resource for substance abuse needs assessment
research, social indicator research, and survey research. The
Center is affiliated with the Harvard Medical School's Department of
Psychiatry at Cambridge
Hospital in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. It is administratively funded through the
North Charles Foundation, and is located a short walk from Harvard
Square and Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge.
