The Lawrence F. Schiff Day Treatment Center is an adult psychiatric day treatment program that provides hope and support for those who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness in both the acute and chronic stages. Under the professional direction of the program’s multidisciplinary staff, clients are encouraged to utilize their strengths, develop new coping skills, maximize learning opportunities, and build self-respect as they transition into the community. The program uses a multi-pronged approach consisting of group therapy, individual case coordination, milieu therapy, and collaboration with care providers. The client’s well-being, personal treatment goals, and progress are consistently monitored throughout the treatment process. This concentrated, individualized treatment in our group therapy program enables clients to achieve the highest possible level of functioning and independence. Schiff provides a safe place for clients to do difficult emotional work.
